Q :
Can the LocPlate® products be laid over any pre-existing surface?
A :
The LocPlate® products  can be installed over any unfinished floor, such as concrete and plywood, and most finished floors including vinyl sheet, plank or tile, VCT, ceramic, hardwood, engineered wood and laminates. TacFast would recommend that broadloom with cushion be removed prior to the installaton of the LocPlate® products.

Q :
Can the LocPlate® products be installed over 'wet' concrete?
A :
The LocPlate® products can be installed over 'wet' concrete. There is no need to wait for the 28-day concrete curing period to elapse prior to installation. The only criterion is that the concrete is'dry' enough to be walk-on.

Q :
What is the finishing method for walls and corners?
A :
The LocPlate® products can be cut to fit at walls and corners. There is no need to consider expansion or contraction issues as the LocPlate® products are designed with gaps so that they can expand and contract with changes to atmospheric conditions. For the surface products, traditional finshing methods can be used at the walls. For example, carpet can be tucked under wood base or traditional carpet base can be used and for luxury vinyl tiles and planks, vinyl cove base or quarter round may be used.

Q :
Can woven carpets be installed over the LocPlate® products?
A :
Yes. Both tufted and woven broadloom carpets can be installed over the LocPlate® products provided they have been manufactured as TacFast®-compatible (with a loop on the underside).

Q :
Do floors need to be rolled after installations?
A :
It is recommended that carpet and vinyl installations be rolled with a 100-lb roller to ensure proper engagement of the hooks and loops.

Q :
Is there any use for trimmed portions of the Hook Plates and Discs?
A :
TacFast recommends that installers attempt to reuse cut pieces of Hook Plates and Discs within the installation itself; however, reasonably sized cut pieces can be reused on future jobs.

Q :
How do you handle dirt and dust on the LocPlate® products?
A :
A small amount of dirt/dust on exposed LocPlate® products will not hamper the effectiveness of the hook and loop engagement; however, dirt/dust can be removed with the use of a blower.

Q :
What transition materials and methods has TacFast defined?
A :
Currently conventional transitions and reducer strips can be used with the TacFast System; however, TacFast is currently developing a new series of transitions and reducers that will be TacFast-compatible and designed for use specificially with TacFast products.

Q :
Is it possible to have directional arrows printed on the back of the plates or embossed at the injection-moulding stage?
A :
TacFast is working on putting a directional feature onto the Hook Plates. Embossed or engraved arrows cannot be accomodated as they would not be high or deep enough to make them visible.
